Spider

This 8 legged spider was created out of a single square piece of paper without any cutting. Designed by Pham Dinh Tuyen.

How could such a complex 8 legged arachnid be folded from a very ordinary piece of paper? Folding it opened my eyes to a range of more advanced models than the ones I was familiar with. Thus this model reignited my passion for paper folding and caused another sudden surge in the number of origami models living in my room comparable to that in 1999, when I folded an entire safari for display in my school.
